Over
the Summer of 2009 Onside in partnership with the White City Adventure Playground and Finlay Community School delivered street
Football Sessions at Finlay School Field.
Street Football is football with a sense of playfulness
and freedom. Onside allows the players to shape the sessions, hoping that players, maybe not already playing the game at a
competitive level, will find a way of enjoying the game on their own terms.
URBAN FUTSAL Urban Futsal can be played on
the parks on the hard courts infact anywhere on the streets. All you have to do is one, use a futsal ball and two incorporate
the rules into your game. Our basic rules are; limit the physical contact ( no sliding tackles, no shoulder barges) - kick
in's instead of throw in's - sin bin for 1 minute if a player commits 2 fouls. You can vary the rules yourself
but the idea is to keep the game flowing and to allow creativity with the ball.
25 young people
accessed the sessions over the summer holidays - ranging in age from 15 to 5. Some of the games played were football tennis,
soccer golf, urban Futsal, 2v2 first goal wins winner stays on, Wembley and the ever popular penalty shoot-outs.
