Peter Millet’s St Paul’s College Old Boys took the title of macronstoregloucester.com Futsal league champions in a thrilling encounter with virtually the last kick off the game from the left foot of Adam Dunsford.

St Paul’s had taken an early lead in the play off final and had built a 2 goal advantage by half time, however their opponents, Jose FC, came storming back in the second half with two excellent goals from Jamie Hojjaty, in fact it looked odds on that Jose FC would take the title as there captain and manager Liam Halliday worked a near post corner routine to perfection, and struck a ferocious ball with his right instep destined to sneak into the St Paul’s net. Amazingly the St Paul’s goalkeeper, Nelly flung himself at the shot and took it full in the face, Halliday was dumbfounded but when he realised what had happened sportingly he lead the applause for the keepers reactions.

As the game came to it’s close St Paul’s played a ball out to the left which Dunsford calmly controlled, beat his marker and stroked home a 15 yard shot beating the Jose FC Keeper at his near post. The crowd went wild.

St Paul’s now progress to the regional finals in Swindon on May 28^th. We wish them all the best.
