66 Star U18s season 2010/11

66 Star U18s entered their second season in the Bristol Combination League Gloucestershire Division in bouyant mood looking forward to the challenge set before them. The previous season had been the teams first season in league football they had done well but felt disappointed with only 7 wins and finishing 8th in a 10 team division.

This season saw the league expand to 12 teams, with a few more local rivals like Tredworth Tigers and Brockworth to compete against.
The season was typical of football some games were won and lost, such is life, with the team eventually ending the season in 6th place. The record at the end of the season was;

Games Played 22
Games Won 10
Games Drawn 1
Games Lost 11
Goals For 67
Goals Against 47
Goal Difference +17
Total Points 30
( 1 point deducted)

Top scorer was Matt Nash with 15.

Congratualtions lads a huge improvement in the space of 12 months, very proud of all your acheivements.

66 Star Mens

An incredibly difficult season for Bagga and the lads.
After two successful seasons gaining consequitive promotions in the Cheltenham League.
66 suffered an 11 point deduction a Christmas for late submission of player registration forms.
At the time they were fourth in an incredibly tight divison 4.
After the deduction they were placed second bottom.
Morale was low but the lads battled on however finally they found it too tough a deficit to catch up and were relegated.

As one door shuts another opens.

66 have transfered their registration to the Stroud League and have agreed a ground share with Abbeymead Rovers at Heron Park for season 2011/12.

The end of an era in 66's history. We say goodbye to the rivarlys with Cheltenham Saracens and RSG, but life moves on and we are looking forward to a new chapter.

66 Star FC - History

66 Star FC has been a feature of football in Gloucester since 1966. Many different people have played and been involved in training and managing the various incarnations that have predominantly focused on being youth teams.

66 Star Utd FC
At the time of us forming 66 Star United FC, Bagga was working with Delroy Ellis at the 66 Star Youth Centre on Seymour Road. Bagga was organising 5 a side football in Star and working with lots of young players.

Delroy approached Onside with the idea of creating a football team with the name Increase the Peace FC. I meet with Bagga and Delroy, we agreed the objectives and applied to the Cheltenham Football league, primarily because they were the only league with their doors still open to applications for that season.

The Cheltenham league accepted our application but asked us to change the name, we agreed to change the name and decided to use the name of the youth club.

66 Star United FC was registered with the Cheltenham League in the summer of 2008 and began it's first season in Cheltenham League Division 6.
